"We're all just walking each other home..."

Homelessness is a terrible thing. It affects over half a million people in the United States - 20% of whom are children under the age of 18.

Additionally, over 40,000 of these homeless people are veterans.

We can do better.

While homelessness is a complex situation with many contributors including the disease of addiction, mental illness and domestic violence - simple economics also play a strong role as people and families who find themselves unemployed are often unable to access existing social support organizations within their communities. Often a team effort is required to provide the support necessary for a homeless individual to get back on the road towards physical/emotional health, employment and self-sufficiency. These teams exist, but are typically chronically underfunded in the case of community charitable organizations and they can always certainly use more help.

At Bean Creek Coffee we understand that we are ALL family, and we try to do what we can to help our brothers and sisters who are in need. Towards this end we started CoffeeCares.org, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with the goal of supporting community organizations whose mission includes helping those in our community who are less fortunate.

During the month of July, Bean Creek Coffee & CoffeeCares will donate $1 from the sale of each bag of gourmet Bean Creek Coffees purchased from local Piggly Wiggly Stores to established community charities who work towards supporting homeless individuals/families and helping them back on the road to self-sufficiency. Your support in these efforts is much needed and would be greatly appreciated! Tell your friends and neighbors, and get some delicious coffee in the process.

Thank you!
